Cow Grouping and Addition Game, an educational math resource from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. This game involves grouping cows in sets of 5 and 10, as well as adding and subtracting groups. Choose the game mode, click on the cows (they will turn around and turn purple to indicate they are selected), and click on “group in sets of 5” or “group in sets of 10” depending on the game mode. A spaceship will come to gather them into a pen. When you’re done grouping them, drag the remaining cows to the other side of the fence, and click CHECK to see how many cows there are. You can count them on your own or with help, adding up the groups of 5 or 10 and adding the remaining cows. A game in English to visualize structures of 5 or 10 as a base that makes counting easier.
