PBL PROJECT: THE FARM AND ITS IMPORTANCE IN SOCIETY

In an increasingly digital world, connecting students to the origins of what they consume is a fundamental educational challenge. This innovative PBL (Project-Based Learning) project, designed for students aged 10 to 12, uses the video game FARM FACTORY as a learning tool to explore the complexity and importance of the primary sector in our society. Through this initiative, students transition from being spectators to becoming managers of their own farm. The project not only teaches the fundamentals of agriculture and livestock farming but also challenges students to answer a critical guiding question: How can we produce food efficiently while protecting our natural resources? Over the course of six development phases—ranging from virtual experimentation to the design of technical models—participants develop key skills such as strategic thinking, the management of limited resources (time and money), and an understanding of natural cycles. It is a unique opportunity for them to discover, in a practical and playful way, how technology and nature intertwine to put food on our table every day.
