1. Who is it for?
- Elementary school boys and girls (approximately 6 to 11 years old) who are learning to spell and expanding their English vocabulary.
- Teachers and families looking for an interactive game that combines motor skills with language learning.
2. Number of players
- 1 player (single-player solo mode).
3. What is it about?
It is an exciting beat-the-clock game that combines fishing skills with spelling English words. The objective is to move the boat and drop the hook at the exact moment to catch the fish carrying the correct letters in the precise order, forming the word that appears above the fisherman's head. The game introduces challenging physical mechanics: each fish swims at a different speed, and the hook takes longer to reach the seafloor than shallower depths. Catching the wrong fish subtracts points, and word length increases depending on the selected difficulty level.
4. What skills are developed?
- Language proficiency (English): Spelling, letter recognition, alphabetical order, and English vocabulary expansion.
- Coordination and spatial reasoning: Hand-eye coordination, calculating trajectories, and estimating time/depth when dropping the hook.
- Executive functions: Sustained attention, patience to wait for the ideal moment, mental sharpness, and time management under the pressure of the timer.
5. How to make the most of it?
Thanks to its adjustable difficulty levels (which modify word length), it is an ideal tool to adapt to each student's learning pace. It can be used in the language classroom to replace traditional dictations with a playful challenge, motivating students to beat their own high scores while internalizing English word structures.
