Find the Surface Area of a Flat Surface is an online and interactive activity to work on the mathematical calculation of areas of irregular, but rectangular, flat figures. The area can be visualised in units of area, so that the area of the plane figure is the number of units contained in it. Children can start learning geometry with these simple games. Each shape can be broken down into rectangles, though not uniquely. Drag the squares to form the rectangles and decompose the plane figure, then calculate the surface area with sums of subareas, calculated with the formula for rectangle area: surface area equals base times height.
